The Easiest Way To Ruin Your Sexlife

It starts innocently enough. One episode before bed. Maybe two. Then suddenly, it’s midnight, you’re bleary-eyed, and the only thing you’re making love to is the ‘Next Episode’ button on your TV screen.

We’ve all been there - hooked on a gripping storyline, telling ourselves just one more, while our partner dozes off beside us or mindlessly scrolls their phone. What was once an opportunity for intimacy, connection, or even just a deep conversation has been replaced by yet another cliffhanger.

And the worst part? We don’t even realise it’s happening.

Remember when you had to wait an entire week for the next episode of your favourite TV show? Unless, of course, you were hooked on Home and Away or Neighbours - then you got your fix every night. Sure, it was annoying having to wait so long between episodes, but there was something special about it, too. That little recap at the beginning had you right back in the story, as if no time had passed at all. You had something to look forward to - Monday nights at 8:30pm, curled up on the couch, knowing millions of other people were watching right alongside you.

Acknowledgement of Country.

At Evolving Hearts, I honour the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung and Dja Dja Wurrung peoples as the traditional custodians of the land on which I live and work. I recognise their deep and enduring connection to this sacred land - a connection rooted in ceremony, storytelling, and the honouring of life’s cycles for tens of thousands of years.

This ancient wisdom resonates deeply with the work I do, grounded in sacred sexuality and connection. Just as the First Nations peoples have always revered the rhythms of the land, I seek to honour the sacred rhythms and cycles within ourselves, embracing all aspects of who we are with respect, compassion, and love.

I believe there is so much to learn from the traditions of this Country’s original custodians - their ability to honour diversity, to live in harmony with the earth, and to celebrate life’s interconnectedness. These teachings inspire the heart-centered work I share with individuals and couples.

With deep gratitude, I pay my respects to their Elders, past and present, and to the emerging leaders who continue to keep their culture alive. May we all walk forward together in truth, connection, and unity.
